Profile of a Timeshare Company: El Cid Vacations Club

As far as a timeshare company goes, the El Cid Vacations Club is one of the most widely known and popular in the industry. The group that would go on to create this vacations club was formed in 1972. Its founder, Don Julio Berdegue Aznar, began this vacations club as a country club with a golf course. El Cid's next project was the Granada Hotel and Country Club in 1974, which boasted the inception of European planning and all-inclusive considerations. Since these first two properties, El Cid Vacations Club has continued to grow until, today, it operates numerous timeshare properties in Mexico, along with a real estate venture, just waiting for you to enjoy them.

Founder

The founder of the El Cid Vacations Club, Julio Berdegue Aznar, who died in 2007, has quite an interesting and unique personal story. Originally from Spain, he and his folks fled the Spanish Civil War to Mexico, where they put down permanent roots. As a young man, Aznar originally obeyed his domineering father's wish to study medicine, but he soon changed his major to biology. His career path took him to operating a shrimp fleet, during which time he became interested in the stunning, natural beauty of the Mazatlan area. Consequently, Aznar got funding from Mexico's department of tourism development and built his first resort--the El Cid Granada Country Club--which led him to sell his fishing business. Since that fateful decision, his El Cid empire expanded. Today, the business is run by two of his sons.

Resort Philosophy

The El Cid Vacations Club was founded to give guests a great and luxurious time while indulging in the natural beauty of the Mexican geography. Their goal is to provide guests with a feeling of Mexican authenticity, as well as a sense of hospitality that the club management feels you can only get from El Cid. The club also offers diversity in the kinds of resorts it features. For instance, Mazatlan timeshare resorts feature a more energetic and lively environment, where the oceanfront resort in the Mayan Riviera focuses on romanticism. They complement the area's natural beauty and the elegance of these resorts, as well as outstanding staff service, ensure a personalized  experience that caters to guests' every need.

Experience Mexico

The El Cid Vacations Club is big on getting guests to delve into the sports and recreation that the lovely Mexican geography permits. Many of El Cid's timeshare resorts are by the coast, enabling guests to partake in all kinds of water-based activities like windsurfing and scuba diving. If you want real thrills, you even are afforded the opportunity for deepsea sport fishing, where you charter a boat or little yacht and then go hunting for bigger fish like marlins.
