Not that I have seen them all but its the best amongst all I have stayed at. I am truly amazed at the level of detail in creating a "bengal village" feel. True labor of love from the creators. The management attitude is not acceptable. My car got damaged by the Resort car in which their manager was travelling. He promised compensation for repairing of my car, which was bearly INR 1500. Unfortunately till date I have not received the same. The said manager is not responding his mobile as well as not accepting any call from me. It is unfortunate such a renowned resort have such treatment towards customer.

I agree with the above reviewer. Our room was cleared out before we had checked out and some valuable items were thrown into the rubbish. When I complained the manager was initially unhelpful and then abusive towards me personally. I have never ever received such treatment at any hotel anywhere in the world. Also the resort is undergoing a massive expansion at the moment which involves lots of building work. Don't be fooled by the adverts, I now live in Kolkata and believe me it is a lot quieter. The building work is loud and continuous and it shows no sign of ending soon. The Vedic Village also suffers from frequent power cuts (up to 6 or 7 a day) and although they have a back up generator it is incredibly noisy and just adds to the overall level of noise.
To sum up the Vedic Village is about the most stressful and unpleasant place I think I have ever stayed. Noisy building work, daily power cuts and abusive, aggressive management.

Ver beautiful. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and a scenic view thrown in, this is the place. The earth villas are beautiful, lots of detailing. Great rural feel, lots of well-maintained greenery. Absence of mosquitoes and insects is amazing. Don't try the food at Bhoomi, Yagna is far better. The approach roads are really bad, but you forget that once you enter the Village. Service is a tad sluggish. Checkout time is at 11:00, which is a bit inconvenient, sghould have been 24 hrs (check in is at 1:00). Lot of love gone into the buildings and landscaping. Close to the city.
