Absolutely the worst vacation of my life! If I could have easily turned around the day after I arrived there, I would have. The accomodations were filthy and unkempt. The food choices were extremely poor - I recommend packing your own food stash prior to staying there. Dealing with the staff was a real challenge - definite language barrier. Also, not accomodating at all. I felt that staying here was like a bad nightmare that I just wanted to wake up from. It's obvious that all the money that they receive does not in any way return to upgrading the hotel. Anything and everything that is broke or in disrepair stays that way. The rooms were filthy with bugs to be found in the bathroom. In the large group that my husband and I went with several became severely ill which ruined their vacation. A number of couples could not bear to stay the night in the rooms so they transferred to the Embassy Suites which was close to this resort, where they reported was like a dream come true. If I could say anything, I would say think very hard about staying at this resort. Remember, you get what you pay for!!! My experience was absolutely terrible and I never plan on returning to this area again (definitely not to this hotel) anytime in the near future. -Review courtesy of Lisa (stayed during Feb, 2007) |

We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled into the hotel, considering the price we paid to go. We found the staff extremely helpful and full of smiles from the time we arrived. Everything was clean and well kept. We heard several complaints from people about their rooms, but you cannot expect the same standards we have in the US and Canada. We lacked for nothing and did not have a single complaint. The pools were lovely and there were lots of places to go on the resort to find quiet time. We had plenty to eat with lots of selection and were not limited to eating only when the buffet or restaurants were open. The snack bar was available 24 hrs and you could find something to eat or drink whenever you wanted. We were in the "S" block so the rooms were a little older - but we were very comfortable and had no problems. The rooms are a little outdated, but who cares. We came for the beach and the culture. I don't know who would travel to a lovely beach destination and remain in their room the entire time - so how important should it be? We were well provided for, well fed, and entirely satisfied with our experience at this hotel. I would certainly return there again.
I believe attitude is everything, and if you travel to the islands expecting things to be like home, you may be disappointed. Things are much different in other countries and hopefully that is one of the reasons you travelled there, so relax and enjoy the atmosphere. -Review courtesy of Michele Meloche (stayed during Mar, 2007) |
