this was a wonderful experience. make sure to have established transportation to the resort prior to arriving in cancun. once you clear customs just keep walking til you get outside. nicely dressed men will try to stop you and sell you touring trips. dont buy it. keep walking. once you get to the hotel they show you to your room and explain what your room has instore for you. getting around the resort is easy but confusing because it's 8 or more buildings and some amenities are in the parking garage level. the staff, MUY EXCELLANTE! some have a little difficulty with English, but they can point you in the right direction. if you use the bus, make sure you have exact pesos and push the red button on the handrail before the stop you need to get off on. walmart is in downtown cancun and takes 20 mins or so to get their by bus. many guests suggest pay the $15 to $30 for the taxi ride instead. but you wont want to leave the resort often as it has many exciting opportunities for you and your family. and parasailing within a few feet of the resort and a mall across the street. about three to four blocks down in the plaza de flamingo is the bubba gump restaurant, pat obrien's and outback steak house. but for some really good mexican or italian, just cross the street into the plaza la isla. MUCHO BUENO FOOD! meet lots of people from USA to Europe to Mexico. it's just a great place for an exotic trip. the money in the hotel zone is costly at times, but you can find bargains if you look. -Review courtesy of kathryn biddle (stayed during Sep, 2009) |
