Although this has the potential for a better vacation, we spent a week in a 1 bedroom unit in the basement (which we were not told prior). The basement entrance was under the pipes, next to the laundry room where you only had water hot enough to shower early in the morning. Once laundry started, forget about a shower until the next morning. There was no view whatsoever. The patio was enclosed with three cement walls and a tent over it to keep the rain off the tiny rubber jacuzzi outside. The pull out sofa has springs popping through the mattress and the sofa should have been thrown out years before. The management refused to switch us to other units and the place at the time we went had other rooms available (confirmed by the housekeeping staff). We purchased last July (salesperson misrepresented a few details) and our first stay with Cabo Villas Beach Resort was this July. Although I loved the look and feel of our 1BD/2BA Executive Suite, the service at the resort was less than acceptable. We had to request cleaning for second bath, request towels, request dishes be put away, etc. Our door had to be hit with hip several times before it would open, both restaurants had very slow service (food was okay though). Someone helped themselves to our snacks (3 other guests realized this same occurrence after several days). We stayed in the building that opened less than a year ago, and right above our outdoor jacuzzi, there were water leak marks. (Look out!!!) To top it off, our third morning we awoke to dripping water in the master closet. My new suitcase and several pairs of shoes were ruined. It took several days and an "angry" demeanor before we were paid for those items. (Four other guests had that same problem). I could go on, but what's the use... you get the picture. The front desk staff had a steady stream of unsatisfied owners and guests every single day I stepped in the door. I hope in a couple of years they get better. It is a GREAT location. I own at Cabo Villas in the front building. I have found the 1/1 condos to be satifactory. I can cook a breakfast type of meal with the 2 burner stove, MW and toaster. The sink and refrigerator are small and to call it a full kitchen is stretching it a bit. The maids are willing to do the dishes, but it isn't in their job description. (tip) Takes about 1min. to put everything away. The place is nice, the staff will try to assist, e-mail/computer access is free. 10min. limit please. Both restaurants are very good. Sunset grill has very reasonable prices, excellent service and good food and is ON the beach. The rooftop restaurant is excellent, offers a diverse menu, a grand view of Cabo and is a pricier dinning experience. Some specials are offered that are very reasonable. 3 pools, the one "in back" has jets built into the sides and is heated, even in the summer. It gets the intense afternoon sun. 2008 summer had construction on site with a 3rd building and construction next door. I could hear some of the noise, but it wasn't very bad. First floor of building 2 is odd. No back view and no front view very easy beach access. It is almost below the pool area. I don't understand the deal here. If you look closely at the pics with the green pool in front you can see where I'm writing about. Beds are wonderful and the pics show a 2 bedroom or ocean front condo. Serena Hernandez of Cabo Villas and I were in email contact on numerous occasions about free and unrestricted use of the property during our cruise ship vacation. I told her we would not be able to do a full "official" timeshare presentation, but would view the property with ownership in mind. She even sent us a "day pass" and certificate for a free taxi ride. When our taxi arrived we were greeted by a lady who just said-"NO." She would not allow this without the timeshare presentation. The beach and snack bar beach food was avaiable to us. Miguel Mallon and Monica Aragon, both managers, refused to speak with us or meet with us. We were totally ignored by everyone except the one lady who just said NO. I would not TRUST these people or buy ANYTHING from them. They were deceitful, liars, and misrepresented themselves just to get us there. They never apologized, met us halfway, or paid for the taxi!! Bad business people, bad public relations. Go up the beach to MELIA for a gracious welcome from your cruise ship to enjoy a lovely facility with understanding management. -Review courtesy of ina (stayed during Dec, 2007) |
