This resort is near everything there is to see in and around San Antonio. It's a great base of operation since the units have a full kitchen but you'll need to drive anywhere you want to go. The airport is very close as is the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Sea World, Fiesta Texas, and several area museums. There's a decent zoo, a wonderful Children's museum and the Witte museum for entertaining young children. The outdoor pool is nice and easily accessible from all the units. They are newly renovated and updated. This resort itself is not luxurious, but located right off the highway. They have landscaped it nicely, but you can still hear the cars. But it's very centrally located for the rounded San Antonio experience.

We just returned from a week at this resort. Compared to the other 6 Shell timeshares we have stayed at this is by far the worst. The units are small and not well renovated. The amenities consist of a pool which is near the noisy highway and 2 hotubs. It is still about 90% hotel/motel so there is lots of traffic and noise coming and going. Service was OK although our unit was not ready until 11:00 pm. San antonio is good for 3-4 day stays but there isn't enough other stuff to do. A nicer resort would have made the stay better.

I was told this was a 5 Star place only to find it was the ghetto. Our room was not ready and we confirmed before leaving Houston to make sure it would be. We arrived at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday and was told the rooms were not clean yet. Did not know when they would be ready. Waited and waited so decided to find another place to stay. They did not seemed at all concerned as they rented the room for $89 a night. I called the timeshare office in Florida to complain only to get a jerk named Jamail. He could not have been any ruder if he had tried. I feel this is a place that is being misrepresented and should be in shape before they start to show it to the public. I lost my $59 investment with a bitter tatse for Shell Vacation Club timeshare. I will never recommend them. My sister has another timeshare and they treat them like Royalty. I was so disappointed. Beware before you come here. I will probably never take a chance on another timeshare because of this experience.

Simply HORRIFIC! A nightmare - Bate's Motel, for real. Dirty linens on bed (just gross!), water damage everywhere, sagging roof in sleep area, NO HOT WATER, no towels, overall just filthy! Complaints fell on deaf ears, rude staff. We left to stay elsewhere. Came for their "FREE" stay and presentation and were later charged for our complete reservation (3days) on our credit card. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Should be condemed.

My husband & I were very skepticial about our future stay in this resort due to several prevously read negative reviews. We own two timeshares and in all our travels/exchanges we have always been very pleased with our accommodations. Although not large, we found our accommodations neat, clean and ready by the promised 3 PM check in. ALL staff were pleasant, friendly and more than willing to help with all of our questions and requests. The outdoor pool again is on the small side, but kept clean. I would suggest having more chairs/lounges placed around the pool, along with some umbrellas to offer shade for those of us who don't enjoy constant direct sunlight. The location is right off the highway which is under going some construction but we were not bother by any loud noises. The location also is convenient to many local attractions, malls, restaurants , airport etc. We would not rate Salada Creek Villas a five-star just yet, but we were more than satisfied during our five night- six day stay.

So sorry I didn't read reviews from Google before coming. The SVC timeshare website was a complete CON compared to the reality we found. This is an active MOTEL. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. But the location is just off of a highway access road, that is currently under construction. The layout of the property is like a motel or trailor park. NOT the condo suites that SVC indicates in its marketing publications. I bought into the timeshare in Hawaii, and this is a 360-degree difference. Of course, I didn't expect what I had in Hawaii, but I also didn't expect to be in a glorified trailer park. The outdoor pool is probably a nice feature for families, but otherwise, I'll never stay here again. And oh yeah, don't fall for the hype about the "cabana"--an open-air patio--where the drink selection is limited to beer, wine, Coke, D-Coke and Dr. Pepper. They didn't even have water, and the "snacks" were limited to pretzels and canned, stadium version nacho chips. We were had, hoodwinked and bamboozled on this one...
