I just spent the past week at Egrets Pointe. The location and grounds are wonderful. But the unit was quite worn. The carpet was old, snagged, worn. Over the course of 7 days, we found 5 Texas-sized roaches that we smacked or were found dead in the morning. The cabinet doors (pressed fiberboard) are hanging askew. But it's a lovely bike ride to the best beach in the southeast! Edisto Island is one of South Carolina's undiscovered wonders with nightly turtles laying eggs on the beaches, alligators in the lake behind the condo, fabulous birdlife all around.
My biggest disappointment was that a priority mail box was sent to me at the condo's office address, 547 Highway 174. I called 4 times asking about it, and was told it hadn't arrived. Today, now that I'm back home, I got a call from them that it was delivered to their mailbox along the street in front of their office last Wednesday! And they told me that they could forward it to me and charge my account! They said I should have known to use their PO box address, which isn't listed anywhere in their website or the welcome package that I received.
In summary--excellent location, so-so physical structure, poor service. -Review courtesy of Lorna VanderZanden (stayed during Jun, 2007) |
