While the property is physically attractrive, the rooms leave much to be desired. Not only is there insufficient dresser space for clothes, the kitchen is arranged such that your untensils are not in a drawer as one might expect, but in a plastic divider which itself is in an upper cabinet. Granted, not the end of the world but if you are visiting with a family and intend on having some meals in your "villa", you'd be better off eating out.
Parking is limited and the building we were in contained an odor in the main hallway outside our room which was most offensive.
If you want a view, plan on sleeping on the roof because the views are limited. On the other hand, if you like looking at parking lots of an adjoining property, the Cancus Resort is your place.
But if you still insist on visiting this joint, then before you do anything, go over the room inventory with great care, lest you get a surprise like we got in today's mail.
A letter from the resort advising that they were tagging our credit card an extra $11.57 to replace (1) Pyrex baking dish, (1) double old fashion glass, and (1) beverage glass which were discovered "missing/damaged" after our rental period.
What a crock of you know what. We did not break anything nor did we feel an urge to take a Pyrex baking dish as a momento of our visit. How absurd. But, like the rule they quote in the letter, if we didn't do an inventory PRIOR TO moving in how can we prove the items weren't there? So shame on us.
What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas and this joint should have stayed on the drawing board. We won't be back. -Review courtesy of Frank (stayed during Dec, 2005) |

This is submitted in the interests of fairness. I posted a review earlier describing how we were charged with some missing items after our visit in December. I contacted the resort today, Jan. 13, 2006, and spoke to Patrick, the manager on duty. After he was informed of the situation, he immediately agreed to credit my account with the amount it was charged for the missing items.
So while our visit is what it was, there was no hesitation on management's part in reversing what was a poor decision in the first place. Kudos to Patrick. -Review courtesy of Frank (stayed during Dec, 2005) |

Resort was nice. Parking was underground and plentiful which is nice when the termperture is over 100. My unit was almost directly above the registration/reception area so there was loud noise going on all the time. (People talking and the stupid piped in music). Units do not contain washer and dryer
so you have to go up 2-3 floors to use laundry room and of course people put laundrey in the machines and then apparently go on vacation elsewhere. Another problem is that the unit had a nice balcony that had a couple of 1000 watt lights on them that lit up the bedrooms at night. The resort refused to turn them off, so I took care of them myself. It was a nice resort and I would go back. Airport noise could be heard occasionally. I wouldn't stay there without a rental car. -Review courtesy of ray bennett (stayed during Apr, 2006) |

We stayed during New Year's week and the quiet area with no casino's was very nice. I agree with other postings that the ktchen is small and not laid out well - no drawers for silverware, etc. The pool area is excellent with water slides and spa's located in various spots. There are hammocks under Palm trees, but it was too cool in December to enjoy them. They would be wonderful in the summertime. Overall, a very nice place to stay. The rooms are average size. The bathrooms are large with jacuzzi tubs and nice counterspace. The kitchen is way too small. The lanai is a nice size. -Review courtesy of Ginny Sebert (stayed during Dec, 2006) |

My family and I really enjoyed the resort and all it's amenities. We did not have any complaints nor mishaps. We have visited most all of the resorts in California,Palm Springs and Vegas and the only complaint is that you must get used to the hot weather in Nevada or Palm Springs. I can truly say when you purchase a timeshare do your research/homework so that you can make the best choice possible for your family. All timeshares are not rip offs; it appears to others as such because some of us try to live beyond our means and want to blame others for our very own mistakes...I hope this helps someone to do things differently. -Review courtesy of Precious (stayed during Jan, 2004) |
