Ron Jon's Cape Caribe is a wonderful experience. It has everything yet isn't so complex as to be confusing.
The beach is terrific, clean and safe. Great for swimming and surfing. We saw dolphins every day! And the pelicans were impressive, especially diving for fish. We even saw an eagle once. Walking in the evening was so peaceful. There were enough people out, mostly families, so as not to feel uncomfortable.
Lots to do, or not do if you choose, at Ron Jon's. Nice fitness center. Little movie theater. Mini golf. Outrageous pool area with a tall slide and lazy river. LOVED the lazy river. Separate kiddie area which was nice. Lots of seating and tables. Even in July, with school out, it was busy but never crazy.
We had a balcony overlooking the ocean. The diagram of the villa layout at Ron Jon's website is not correct. It shows only the living room facing the ocean. Our villa had both the living room AND master bedroom facing the ocean and both walked out to the balcony. Only had to open my eyes to see the sunrise without moving from the bed. And the jacuzzi in the bathroom was an unexpected surprise. All the rooms are large, bright, spotless, new and modern. 3 TVs. The 2 bedrooms are at the opposite ends of the villa so it was very private.
Food at the on site restaurant was actually good and not expensive. Of course, having the full kitchen saved us alot of money. Lots of shopping nearby so it's easy to stock up. And COVERED free parking. What a wonderful thing in Julyl! There's so much to do on site you don't even have to venture off property. Although we did go to a nearby comedy club, the Cocoa Beach Pier (great surfing) and over to the Kennedy Space Center. There's also a nature refuge closeby with great birds and alligators. Disney/Orlando is a 45 minute ride west.
Tons of activities for the kids. Most free or very cheap. Safe environment. Enthusiastic staff.
