Club Hallbjonn may be a good place to visit in the winter if you want to ski, but at the end of May, when we were there, it was NOT fun. The long, twisting road up the mountain from Dalen takes at least 20 minutes, and Dalen is the only place where there is anything to do, or any place to shop. We had three young children with us, and just walking around the grounds (which weren't as nice as the description says they are), wasn't much fun for them. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant there (thank goodness it was open, since we hadn't brought food with us), but after only one night we decided to leave. We ended up driving into Rjukan for a night, and then on through the country, back to Oslo, spending nights in hotels, -Review courtesy of Carolyn Bourdeau (stayed during May, 2009) |
