THIS MAY NOT BE A 5 STAR RESORT ACCORDING TO THE RATING SYSTEM, BUT BELEIVE ME I HAVING BEEN STAYING THERE FOR 10 YEARS THIS YEAR 2006 FOR 4 WEEKS SOMETIMES THE PEOPLE AND SERVICE COUNT FOR ALOT. THIS IS ONE THING THAT OCCIDENTAL HAS OVER OTHER PLACES WHEN YOU SPEND MONEY ON A VACATION THE LAST THING YOU NEED IS A HASTLE WHEN YOU ARRIVE I CAN ONLY TELL YOU OF MY EXPERIENCES AT THIS RESORT IT HAS BEEN FIRST RATE WITH THE HOTEL AND THE TIMESHARE. THESE PEOPLE ARE THERE TO HELP YOU AND MAKE YOUR VACATION A GOOD MEMORY. I HAVE LOOKED AT THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND SAY THIS YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PLEASE EVERYONE ALL THE TIME BUT THIS RESORTS DOES A GOOD JOB. WHEN YOU GET THERE THEY HAVE PICTURES IN THE LOBBY OF ALL THE REPEAT PEOPLE THIS SHOULD SPEAK FOR ITSELF. WE MET MANY PEOPLE I CONSIDER MY FRIENDS THREW THE YEARS AND WE ALWAYS COME ABOUT THE SAME EVERY YEAR ITS LIKE HOME COMING. My family and my experience was great here. While we were vacationing here in 2006, we were introduced to their first club membership. We went ahead and bought it for approximately $20,000.00 for a one week studio. We were told that this was the greatest deal ever. We were promised a lot of things with this vacation club. Since my 10 year old was with us, we were told that there will never be a problem of all of us getting a one bedroom when my son turned 12. Not! We were also promised that if the allocated rooms for first club members are full, they will put us up in regular rooms if space is available. To our surprise, this was not so.I have had many conversations with their ad reps but they said they cannot do anything about it and they all feel sorry for us. I have just come back from Cancun, but not with occidental since they had no room (which was a tale). I do not know why we paid this huge sum of money and could not enjoy its benefits. Staff at this hotels have been very courteous but be careful of the sales people. They promise things that they can not fulfill. My husband and I have voiced out our frustrations but everyone seem to sympathize but say they can not do anything.We are in the process of selling my membership to anyone who wants it. Again, let me re-iterate that the staff at the hotels in Mexico in general and very courteous and helpful but my frustrations is with the vacation club sales people, who mislead people into sales.
