First the good - the resort bell hops, housekeeping staff, restaurant staff and bar staff was very friendly and accomodating - certainly no complaints with the service received from them. The buffet in the restaurant was also very good with a wide variety of selection. Now the bad - the front desk was useless in regards to answering questions or providing information concerning our exchange. It seems there was only one person in the hotel who could authorize anything in response to guest requests; such as our TV did not work, so we had to wait until this certain person came in the next day before they could change it; the air conditioner stopped working and we couldn't get anyone to fix it until we complained to the one person in charge. The hotel was out of water for a period of time and once the water was back on the water pressure was so low we had a small stream of water coming from the shower, and of course there was no way to regulate the water temperature so you couldn't actually stand under the shower without either getting scalded with hot water or chilled from cold water. Water leaked and gathtered in the hallway outside of our room which then seeped under our door into our room. The room was supposed to have queen size beds, but they were full size. My husband and I had to sleep in separate beds to lay on a diagonal across our bed so our feet would not hang off the end of the bed. Cancun is a wonderful place and we did enjoy our vacaction there. But the resort is not a place we would recommend nor will we be staying there again. -Review courtesy of J. Long (stayed during Jun, 2005) |

My family of four, two children ages 5 and 9, stayed at this resort Christmas week 2006. This resort goes by several names and few people in the airport knew Blue Paradise. It is also called "Hotetur" and "Beach Paradise." This resort has a mandatory, fairly expensive, all inclusive package, of which we were not informed. Interval International, our exchange company, did not know this either and has since "suspended" this resort from their inventory. The people were very nice and friendly and the room was relatively clean. However, for the four out of six days we were there, there was NO HOT WATER and all we were told was "they are working on it." When we asked for some compensation from the hotel management, the manager offered us a free tour and sent us to the Time Share office. The Time Share office had no control over this matter and we therefore caution anybody planning to stay at this resort. In addition, becuase the building is so tall and so close to the beach, every day at about 2:30 the sun would disappear behind the hotel, leaving the entire beach area in the shade. Not a fun way to spend the holiday week. Again, learn from our mistakes and stay elsewhere......... -Review courtesy of lily (stayed during Dec, 2006) |
