This resort is my favorite resort in the Kruger Park area and our visit in 2004 was my second visit to Ngwenya. We were extremely lucky to get a chalet right on the banks of the Crocodile River, and my wife and I spent many happy, relaxing hours on the front deck being treated to sights of Elelphant, Buffalo, Lion wonderful birdlife and many other species of wild game. We had a really close encounter with a bull elephant that had crossed the river and was eating directly below our front deck. The chalets are extremely spacious, private, clean and well serviced. The staff are very friendly and always ready to help. The facilities are well maintained and in good order, there are any number of activities one can participate in and the restaurant is good value for money and the food excellent. Obviously you will be spending most of your time in the Kruger Park, but the resort is close enough to other attractions that you should be aware of. For the golfing enthusiast I suggest driving into Komatipoort to play a round on the little 9 hole course in the town. It borders the Kruger Park and you can be treated to some serious game viewing whilst lining up your putts. The little course was in great condition and is challenging enough. We found the drive from Johannesburg to be a little long. We arrived after dark and found the last few kilometers a little hairy, but it was well worth it once we were there. An absolute gem!
