I stayed at the Occidental Grand Flamenco Puerto Plata twice. First, in the year 2003, and just a month or so ago, February 2006. I loved it. From the first time that I went, it was my dream to bring my children there. I couldn't sleep all nite' the nite before we boarded the plane. First of all I was very, very safe. Safety was a big issue for me because I am a single parent; And the first time I went was my first time out f the country. More than that, I was by myself. The resort itself is beauty. The food was all that you could hope for and more. What I found really appealing was the different tours they offered you to go on. The highlight of the trip was that Sarfi jeep tour. You dont want to miss it. So two of my four childen went with me. They loved it and informed me that they want to come back. They said they where going to tell their two older brothers that they difintantly want to go. My two children that went ages are 17 and 18. The 17 year old girl did a fast forward n me, she said "I'm going to bring my children here". A little shocking since she is still in high school. The 18 year old who has been going thur growing pains really dont talk to me much. That has changed since the trip. He said since he has been there it has started him to thinking. Just Go! It will do a lot for you and whoever you bring with you.

I have just got back from the Occidental Flamenco in Puerto Plata. I loved every second of it, i went with my mother father and younger brother. The staff were amazing they were so friendly i still remember one of the staff's name he was called Amauris or something like that he was so nice and i got on with him well. One of the highlights of the trip was the 'Hot wheels' trip we booked with our rep. we had to drive these beach buggies up the mountain and as we went along you seen all the amazing villages it is so sad when you think how poor some of these people are.The anomation team wre good with the kids and they had games by the pool every day. Este ha sido el peor resort que he visitado y puedo decirles que he visitado muchos en la zona de puerto plata. La comida es poca y no hay variedad, el personal de servicio son unos perros con ropa...solo se puede sarvar el personal de animacion y las habitaciones, pero el resto no sirve.
