The Hotel itself was very nice with marble flooring and wide corridors. The reception staff were very friendly and helped with directions to the nearset supermarkets etc. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away and there is a mini shopping centre about 2 minutes round the corner. There is a prominade that runs the length of the beach with loads of souvenier shops and restaurants (I recommend the Irish pub) The only downside is that the pool is not how it looks on this site. When we were there, they were refurbishing the pool and it is now plain and rectangular. I believe it is now finished, however it is not as nice as is was. There are loads of restaurants along the road where the hotel is situated, and a great english bar called the British Bulldog. The have a quiz everynight and kareoke!! The food is also very english and very well cooked. We were at this bar almost everynight. Overall, the resort is very nice. -Review courtesy of Laura (stayed during Feb, 2006) |

I have stayed at the Excelsior 2 many times now and have seen many changes - the apartments are very clean and are excellantly equiped with everything one needs and more ! - The Patio runs the full length of the bedroom and lounge area and is hot in the morning and shaded in the evening (just right to come back to when the day has been hot).
The swimming pool is huge (one of the biggest private pools in Playa) with a nice little pool for the babies.
This does not have the usual bar and music round the pool - its piecefull and relaxed - it also has a on-site pool attendant/safety person - the staff are very friendly and will help at any time of the day and night with any queries - I am going back this year 2008 in June again with my daughter and we just cannot wait !! -Review courtesy of Julie Oldman (stayed during Jun, 2007) |

Hi Dirk and all, we had a great holiday there, so much so, we bought a week. We haven't been back yet but that's soon to be remedied, hoping to take the whole family, can't wait. It's got to be said it was one of the best holidays we have had. The staff are very friendly and helpful the rooms clean and well kept the pool area is clean and quiet, with a pool attendant that does his job well and does not allow any roudiness in or around the poole.
