General Description:
Lg 3 bed, 2 bath fully furnished condo. Very well maintained. Only 2 miles from Sun Valley Resort! We also have a bonus week that can be purchased for only $450 - this week can be used at the same time, immediately following or any other time that there is an available unit. You do not have to rent the regular week in order to rent the bonus week. However, while the initial week can be reserved for absolutely anytime of year, the bonus week can only be reserved 30 days in advance.
Resort Description:
With 3 bedrooms, and a sofa sleeper in the living room - our family of 7 very comfortably enjoys the space. The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances, cookware, eatingware, even a coffee maker and popcorn popper! On our last trip, we took our family on a different hike every morning - there are more than 10 hikes less than 5 miles away of all difficulties (we had a double stroller that we took on the hikes with us). We also spent a day visiting Redfish Lake (just 60 miles away). After spending time at the visitor's center, we took the family on another short (1.4 mi) hike, and then ate a picnic on the shore. After lunch, the kids played and waded in the Lake and we were so glad to know that we had a nice large condo to take the kids back home to and clean the sand off of them!
Unit Description:
This unit is located just 2 miles from Sun Valley. Ketchum has fabulous shopping, eating and outdoor recreation by itself. The 3 bedroom units are located on the top (3rd) floor. Each unit comes with a single, heated garage. In the entry there is a coat closet with a vacuum and the key to the common Hot Tub/BBQ area. The kitchen is spacious with all the amenities of home, and already has dishwasher and dishwashing detergent available for use. There is a large breakfast bar and table with 6 chairs, so all 8 guests can eat together. The family room is to the right of the kitchen and has a TV, DVD player and CD player. Cable is included. Outside the Family Room is a deck. Next to the kitchen is a laundry closet with a washer and dryer. To the left of the kitchen is the hallway leading to the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - there is also a linen closet in this hallway. The master bedroom and 2nd bedroom both have their own decks, while the master bedroom also has it's own full bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a TV with a VCR (we bring our LCD TV/DVD combo unit from home). The 2nd bedroom has 2 twins and a large walk in closet. The 3rd bedroom has a queen bed. All bedrooms have plenty of dressers, etc to store your clothes, so you don't have to live out of your suitcase.
Nearby Attractions:
As I've said earlier - we absolutely love visiting the condo and taking our family out to the nearby hikes, lakes, rivers, and shopping. We also enjoy taking the kids to the driving range, so they can have a chance to do some golfing with mom and dad. Something I didn't mention earlier was the final hike we went on - no strollers fit on this hike, but it was still gentle enough for our 3 & 4 year olds to make it with little help from mom and dad. On the way to this hike (Baker Lake Trail) we even saw a bear run across the road in front of our van! Fun! This hike leads to beautiful, prisitne Baker Lake. When we reached the lake, we took pictures and then took off our shoes and stuck our feet in the lake to cool off. You could look into the lake and easily see fish swimming everywhere - even near your toes! Also, for those of you who don't know - Sun Valley never gets too hot in the summer, so you can do all these hikes even in July without getting super hot.
Nearby Restaurants:
You absolutely cannot miss eating breakfast at The Kneadery. My most favorite muffin in the entire world, is the Kneadery's bran muffin (don't worry health-food haters, this muffin is loaded with raisins and sweet stuff - my husband hates bran muffins, but absolutely loves this one!). We've never eaten lunch or dinner there, but have heard good things about it as well. The Sun Valley Deli in the little shopping complex nearing the Sun Valley Inn & Lodge is also a must eat! When my sister and I were young, we would save up our money all year long, and then buy a sandwich from this deli to share during our yearly trip to the area. I got one during my last trip with my own family and my 2 oldest daughters are now planning on doing the same thing. Don't forget to grab some sweets at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Ketchum's shopping area. Just about everything in there is fabulous, but don't miss out on the caramel, chocolate covered marshmallows!
