Resort Details

The city of New Orleans is on the road to recovery. As this hurricane season comes to an end, we all breathe a sigh of relief for having been spared. Rebuilding is slow in some parts of the city, but many businesses, restaurants and bars have reopened in the French Quarter, Central Business District and Uptown District. Tulane and Loyola Universities, as well as many of the other area colleges and universities, have also reopened.

Renovations at Wyndham Avenue Plaza have continued, and electricity has been restored to the main building. The roof has been repaired. The sundeck and pool have been resurfaced, and a new fence has been installed. Landscaping has begun by the pool and Ashley House courtyard. Renovations and repairs have started in the lobby, basement, laundry and housekeeping facilities. Additionally, housekeeping efforts began on November 1 to prepare the resort for occupancy.

The staff of Avenue Plaza hosted a job fair to fill positions in guest services, valet, maintenance and housekeeping. It is with great excitement and eagerness that the staff and management of Avenue Plaza Resort look forward to reopening. Groups of units are scheduled to become available beginning on January 5, 2007, and those owners will be notified as units become available. Segments of the resort will continue to become available on a rolling schedule from January through April. FairShare Plus owners can now reserve their stay at Avenue Plaza for arrivals beginning April 1, 2007, when we anticipate the entire resort will once again welcome our owners and guests back to a property that has long awaited their return.
