Location. Set amid tropical palm trees, fine white sand beaches and the crystalline waters of the Caribbean Sea is the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino in Oranjestad, Aruba. Guests are adjacent to shopping, dining and nightlife available in downtown Oranjestad, five and one-half kilometers from the Bubali Bird Sancturary and six kilometers from Casibari Rock Formations. Queen Beatrix International Airport is within five kilometers of the property. The Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino has two separate hotels within the same resort. The first is the Renaissance Marina Hotel, which is set back slightly from the ocean and, as the name implies, is located on the marina. This hotel is available exclusively for adults (aged 18 and over), and is consequently not an option for those traveling with children. All rooms within the Marina Hotel have a 2-person maximum occupancy. The second hotel is the Renaissance Ocean Suites, which is adjacent to the Caribbean Sea and has 4-person maximum occupancy suites that come equipped with a mini-kitchen, including a microware, 2-burner stove, mini-fridge, toaster, dishes, pots and pans, etc. Both hotels utilize the same amenities, including the private island, pools (the Marina Hotel has an endless, adults-only pool, while the Ocean Suites has 2 larger, kid-friendly pools, including 1 with a swim-up bar), beaches, fitness centers, restaurants, lounges, etc. The hotels are within easy walking distance of each other, located just across the street from one another, and there are also complimentary golf-cart shuttles to transport guests between the two buildings. Within the resort, there is a marketplace with 40 shops, 15 restaurants and cafes, and a multiplex movie theater.


Across the marina, nightlife and the 15,000 square-foot Crystal Casino with 24-hour gaming action are featured at the adults-only Renaissance Marina Hotel. The property additionally hosts Aruba's only private beaches, located on the resort's 40-acre Renaissance Island. Landscaped pools feature a swim-up bar and a private lagoon area. Overlooking the marina is the martini bar BLUE, serving tropical concoctions and Spanish- style tapas during evenings. The property additionally presents 24-hour dining options, a fitness center and 22,000 square-feet of meeting and function space. Massages are available at the exclusive Spa Cove.

Newly renovated in 2006, the Renaissance Aruba Resort's 559 guestrooms and suites feature mixed wood furnishings, balconies or patios and décor in rich shades of blue, claret and pale yellow. Renaissance Island. The resort's private island has 40 acres of beaches, where you can engage in various sporting activities. The best feature of the this resort is its 40-acre private island, which is exclusive for hotel guests. There are two distinctive lagoons/beaches on this island, the first of which is Iguana Beach with a bar/restaurant and the second of which is Flamingo Beach, which is adults-only (yes – there are literally flamingos on this beach). There are activities available on the private island, including rafts (available daily for rental), kayaks (available for single or double rental for half-hour or hour increments), snorkeling (equipment available for rental or you can bring your own – there is a sunken shipwreck within yards of the island), tennis, and fishing. There are numerous hammocks on the island for lounging as well as numerous cabanas and palm trees for those who want to be shaded from the sun, unlike other resorts in Aruba where you have to get up early to stake your claim on a beach chair, at Renaissance Island, there is no need for this; so you will have a relaxing and stress-free vacation. Shuttle boats to and from the private island run from both hotels within the resort about every 10-15 minutes.

Expert Tip. Located adjacent to the property, Atlantis Submarines can ferry guests 150 feet below the Caribbean to view shipwreck remains and vibrant sea life.
