A week of fall splendor, located about 2 hours from Washington, DC, overlooking beautiful Bayse, Virginia nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in the Shenandoah Valley. The unit, equipped with 3 queen beds and a hide-a-bed sofa, sleeps 8. A master bedroom with adjacent 1/2 bath and a smaller second bedroom are located on the main floor. A stairway located in the living room leads to a loft with a third queen bed. Also on the main floor is a full kitchen with dishwasher and stacked washer/dryer, and the living room, furnished with a wood-burning fireplace, sofa-bed and TV/VCR. There is plenty of sightseeing and recreation available, but it is also a wonderful place for just relaxing. Hiking trails can be accessed locally or in the George Washington National Forest and along Skyline Drive. The 45-acre Lake Laura, about a mile away, offers fishing, swimming and seasonal boat rentals. Use of the fitness center, offering an indoor pool, hot tub, 2 weight rooms and 2 aerobic rooms and located about 1.5 miles away, is available with free passes obtainable from the resort. Nearby is an outdoor pool (passes issued). Volleyball, basketball, tennis courts, and miniature golf are also in the area (availability is seasonal). Winter-time skiing and snowboarding are available at Bryce Resort. Picnic tables and a charcoal grill are available onsite. Week 40 is a prime red week: Oct 5 - 12, 2007 and Oct 3 - 10, 2008.
