The Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort & Spa is situated on the western side of the tip of Baja, overlooking the Pacific. Set away from the concentration of hotels along the Sea of Cortez, the resort's fifty-acre site and expansive, private beach provide guests with a uniquely tranquil and secluded setting.
This resort boasts several expansive free-form swimming pools with swim-up bars, children's pools, large jacuzzis, hydro-massage pools, 3 excellent restaurants, grocery store/deli (with free wireless Internet access), fitness center, spa, tennis, and daily maid service.
Free round-trip, hourly shuttle from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. to and from sister resort Pueblo Bonito Rose; close walk from Rose to town.
Excellent Children's program; free use of crib upon request at check-in.
Cabo boasts great nightlife, golf, fishing, scuba diving, water sports, whale watching, etc.
MORE DETAILS: Gorgeous landscaping throughout acres of trails dotted with various fountains and ponds for flamingoes, swans, parrots...
Property developed by Ernesto Coppel Kelly awarded '2004 Entrepeuner of the Year' and constructed by the number one architectural firm in the world.
The 24 hour main pool complex is the most fabulous I've visited, with varying levels of connected pools, one cascading in to another, sun-sheltered swim up bar, another sun- protected round-a-bout with jets so strong a current is created. Adjacent is a large hot tub situated to watch sunsets. White cabannas have 4 curtained/adjustable sides so you can enjoy while controlling sun exposure and view at poolside and beach. Towel booth offers plush and heated towels as well as pool and sand toys. Every day except Monday the main pool offers lessons and activities: towel folding, Spanish, mixed drinks, cooking, Lego building, sand castle contests, water volleyball. kite making, water aerobics...
An hourly Mercedes shuttle bus takes you to the sister resort, Pueblo Bonito Rose' and Spa, which is a five minute walk to town center and runs until 10:30 pm. If you want to stay in town past that you can take a taxi back to the resort for approx. $10-$12. The Rose' is right on swimmable Medano beach where you can catch a glass bottom taxi to Lovers Beach and short tour of the famous Arch for a total of $5.
BOTTOM LINE: You can stay here and feel positively presidential, while enjoying an inexpensive vacation taking advantage of the complimentary shuttles, the resort facilities, snorkeling at Lovers Beach, cooking/mixing in your fabulous kitchen after stocking up at Costco or City Club, and eating from one of your three private terraces overlooking the ocean.
BY THE WAY, the best bet for getting to and from the airport is to contract directly with the resort shuttle which is $13 to $15 each way (per person) and ONLY stops at Pueblo Bonito Resorts so you don't spend an hour or two getting to your resort, as often happens with other carriers.
