Timeshare Owner's Description:

General Description:
Laugharne (pronounced ‘ Larn’) Park is one of those rare places which at once inspires you with its beauty and at the same time fills you with a feeling of well-being. Which makes it the perfect spot for taking a break from the modern pace of life.

From the heights of Laugharne Park, you can see across the wide, sparkling sweep of the River Taf estuary, over part of the magnificent Bay of Carmarthen and right the way to the North Devon coast, some 30 miles away.

Below you stretches the green, shady glades of Milk Wood – made famous in the legendary works of one of Wales’ most noteable sons, Dylan Thomas. And all about you are wide open spaces, with a chorus of birdsong reassuring you that all’s right with the world.

Here, where sea birds abound as the tides ebb and flow, the Gulf Stream ensures a mild winter and an early Spring, so you’ll find local hedgerows and cliffs alive with colour when other parts of the UK are still in the grip of winter.

Each season has its own charm at Laugharne. So much so that Dylan, originally from Swansea, wrote of Laugharne ‘Came one day for the day, and never left. Got off the bus and forgot to get on again.’

Laugharne Park Resort
Originally an Iron Age settlement, but more recently a country house and estate in the 18th century, Laugharne Park’s 40 acres have been thoughtfully developed into a luxury holiday resort in what must be one of the U.K.’s most outstanding locations.

Thanks to the Severn Bridges and the M4, with linking dual carriageways all the way to St. Clears, the journey to Laugharne is very straightforward, yet the park and village are deep in the heart of completely unspoilt countryside.

Laugharne Park offers every comfort and convenience, with an enviable range of facilities in and around the 18th century clubhouse, including:
Heated indoor swimming pool
Sauna, whirlpool spa bath, gymnasium
Beauty and Health Centre
Caitlin’s Restaurant, serving bar snacks, a la carte and table d’hote delicious meals all day
Nightly cabaret and entertainment in the private members’ lounge
Bar
Two outdoor tennis courts
Giant chess set
Children’s adventure playground
Crazy golf
Games room
Laundry facilities

Accomodation
The luxury accommodation at Laugharne Park consists of a choice of studios, one bed, two bed and three bed lodges. As with all Seasons resorts, all units are fully equipped for self-catering, including fitted kitchens, bed linen, towels, glassware, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and a wide range of kitchen appliances.

Radio/cassette/CD players, televisions and VCR/DVD players are supplied for your entertainment. Some of the larger lodges provide either washing machines or dishwashers.

Exploring the area
Originally founded as a Roman station prior to the Norman Conquest, Laugharne and Malmesbury in Wiltshire are the only two towns that have kept their ancient charter, granted by Guy de Brian in the early 14th century. On the seashore stands the ruins of a medieval castle said to have been built in the 12th century on the site of a Roman fort. The town hall dates from 1745 and is surmounted by a white tower and a belfry, now being restored.

The surrounding Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire countryside offers marvellous opportunities for walking, horse riding, fishing, golf and there are many historic castles and museums, as well as lots of attractions, guaranteed to entertain every member of the family.

Children are particularly well catered for in this respect, with Oakwood – Wales’ premier holiday attraction, Folly Farm and Groveland Leisure Park, to name but a few.
