AREA ATTRACTIONS

Saint Marteen, Sint Marteen and St. Martin are all the same island in area of the US Virgin Islands...about 150 miles east of Puerto Rico...The name distinctions are partly due to the divided control...half is French and half is Dutch...This makes for wonderful and diverse experiences...that many visitors consider to be the best choice in the Caribbean...

Technically, the islands belong to the Netherlands Antilles...so I used the Dutch spelling because the resort... which is considered in the top five on the island... is on the Dutch side...close to everything...There is an excellent private beach right on site next to the clear Simpson Bay for the casual swimmer...and fantastic snorkeling on the ocean side for the more experienced.

The island contains about 37 square miles with 37 distinctive beaches to match...some among the most famous in the Caribbean...Cupecoy and Orient beaches are here... Philipsburg is about ten minutes away...the centre of dining, shopping and nitelife activity but there are many cafes and fun places closer by.

The French side boasts of some of the best eating establisments in the Caribbean...
mainly due to ex-patraits from France who were excellant chefs...
