Timeshares VS Hotels
Written by: Traver
When planning a vacation during anytime through out the year travelers must make the decision pertaining to the type of accommodations to use during their trip. Hotels could be the most popular accommodation type for many people; however timeshares can be a better option when all factors are included in the decision. In this post we will compare and contrast these property types to help travelers and families decide which accommodation type is right for them.
Timeshares are well as hotels offer a place for families and other travelers to stay during their vacation or any other reason they are traveling. Most of the time both timeshare resorts and hotels will be located in the immediate vicinity of popular vacation destinations such as the beach or a ski resort. One difference between a hotel and timeshare is the set of amenities available to the party visiting the resort. Most hotels offer services such as concierge, housekeeping, and room service, some timeshare resorts will offer theses services but hotels on the most part will provide the visitor with a higher level of service. Most timeshares are used for a week at a time whereas a hotel room can be purchased on a nightly basis. Perhaps the most important difference that should be addressed is the size of these two types of accommodations. Hotel rooms tend to consist of a minimal amount of space, normally a room for sleeping and a bathroom, which can normally accommodate up to four people. On the other hand a timeshare unit normally allows the users to occupy a larger space and have multiple rooms to accommodate a larger amount of people during the stay; this allows the user the ability to make themselves at home while on vacation. Timeshares can also have a living room and a full kitchen, allowing the travelers to prepare and eat meals inside the unit, saving them a significant amount of money by not having to eat at a restaurant for every meal. Whether you are renting or already own a timeshare you will receive the same advantages at the timeshare resort. The price for a timeshare rental may be a little more than the price for a hotel room, however when considering the advantages that a timeshare unit offers the difference in price seems negligible. There are many bargains to be found on timeshare rentals given the number of owners who are unable to use their unit and are trying to rent it out.
In the end the decision to rent a timeshare or a hotel room depends on the party traveling and their needs. I usually recommend people look at three main factors when making the decision, number of people in your party, length of stay, and amenities required. After reviewing these factors the decision can seem more manageable.
