Renting Your Points Based Timeshare
Written by: Traver
One of the most common questions that owners ask me is, “How should I advertise timeshare vacation club points?” There are a couple different suggestions I normally give to them before they list their timeshare for rent with Vacation Timeshare Rentals.
The options that I normally give owners is to either list the timeshare as a “Multiple Location Club”, pick the option in our database that corresponds to your vacation club points, or pick a specific resort in your network and advertise the points under that resort. The first option is to advertise the timeshare as Multiple Locations, this is a very broad option which lumps your advertisement in with any timeshare that has access to multiple locations around the world, whether it may be timeshare points like yours or with another vacation club. For this reason I will normally try to steer people away from this option and advertise the unit as something more specific. The listing will only be advertised in this section of the site if you specifically choose to advertise as a multiple location club.
The second option is to list your timeshare as points based and select the option that corresponds to your vacation club network. For example, if your home resort belongs to the Bluegreen network we have a section of the site that only advertises Bluegreen Resorts Vacation Points. Listing a timeshare like this gives you a better chance of renting because the people are not only looking for multiple location networks; they are specifically looking for Bluegreen locations.
The final option I recommend is to list the timeshare at a specific resort in a popular location that belongs to your network, even if it is not your home resort. We have found this to be the most effective way to advertise timeshare points, some users of our sites might not know about Bluegreen Points, however if they are looking for something in Orlando they may come across your listing and contact you to rent. I normally don’t recommend reserving a specific week unless it is a high demand week such as Christmas or other holidays.
I hope this information will help owners in the future while renting out their vacation points. Please feel free to comment and let us know what has worked for you.
