Let the Good Times Roll – Fun Activities in Lake Tahoe
Written by: Traver
Most vacation destinations will feature one or two main attractions that draw travelers to the area. For example many people visit Orlando Timeshares in order to be close to Walt Disney World. The Lake Tahoe area has a multitude of activities for people of all ages to participate in. There were two main activities that caught my eye and made me want to visit are, snowboarding and casinos.
Unfortunately for us the Lake Tahoe area had not received a great amount of snow at the time when I was visiting. I talked with many locals who stated that the snowfall for this year was below average. For this reason I only visited one ski resort, Heavenly. Because of the lack of snowfall there were only three trails open when we arrived, however the first night we were there a good sized snow storm moved through the area, dumping around two feet of snow in a 48 hour period. Since more snow had started to accumulate Heavenly resort continued to open more runs, by the time we left there were around 10 runs open. Heavenly has 95 ski runs when fully opened so I really did not get a chance to experience all this resort had to offer with only 10 percent of the terrain open. Because so few runs were open it was very crowded most of the time. I would also recommend checking the weather before you go to the mountain; the resort will shut down ski lifts if it gets to windy and not provide a refund. If you are there on a windy day I would recommend finding something else to do, otherwise you might be out $75 for your lift ticket. The views at the top of this mountain are simply spectacular; even though most of the mountain was not open I plan on returning to this area and snowboarding again.
We also enjoyed visiting the casinos in Stateline, NV at night. I know when I was researching this location I was worried that we would not be very close to the casinos, however Stateline, NV and South Lake Tahoe, CA are virtually next to each other. Our timeshare was located about one mile away from the casinos even though our resort was located in a different state. We tried to visit each casino; the bigger casinos are Harrah’s, Horizon, and Mont Bleu. People who frequent Las Vegas will find these casinos are smaller than the buildings/hotel in Sin City. This makes for a friendly atmosphere, if you like to play table games, as I do, it is very easy to carry on a conversation with the dealers.
There are literally hundreds activities for the family while in Lake Tahoe, especially during the summer. I found out the busiest time of year for this area is the summer time. Please feel free to share your experiences with us and tell your favorite things to do while visiting Lake Tahoe.

I think Lake Tahoe is the best ski destination you can travel to. I really love its lifts, ski trails and of course amazing panoramic views that cannot be found anywhere else.
