That’s right Disney is planning to build yet another resort, including timeshare units, in the United States. This time Disney will be building the resort in Hawaii. The Disney Vacation Club currently consists of 7 locations mainly in Florida and South Carolina. Another resort is currently under construction in the Florida area and is set to open in 2009.
Disney has purchased 21 acres of oceanfront property where they plan to build the new hotel/resort. The resort is reported to included 350 hotel rooms and 480 vacation villas, which will be converted to timeshare units and be used by DVC members. The new offering will also contain an 18,000 square foot spa, along with a banquet hall/convention center measuring 8,000 square feet, two restaurants, a kids club, and a lawn for private weddings. This new resort has a proposed opening date of 2011.
Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Jay Rasulo, had this to say about the new Hawaiian timeshare: “This resort hotel will give our Guests another way to visit an exciting part of the world with a brand they trust, In fact, Hawaii has been among our most requested Disney Vacation Club getaway locations beyond our Theme Parks. We are looking forward to building a special family resort that honors the cultural diversity of Hawaii and reflects the spirit of aloha that makes this location so unique.”
Disney is one of the most well known brand name throughout the world. Many people have only great things to say about their experience with Disney Vacation Club Timeshares, this new resort will most likely provide the luxury and comfort that DVC members have grown accustomed too.
