A couple of weeks ago I woke up on a Saturday morning and thought to myself “Ummm, I think I would like to go snowboarding in December”. Around four hours later I had found a timeshare unit to rent using Vacation Timeshare Rentals, for the dates of December 13 to December 20. I narrowed down my search results by using VTR’s advanced search feature. This feature allowed me to input the number of bedrooms, location, and dates that I wanted, returning only relevant results. This feature has many other parameters available to narrow down any search. The unit that I found was a one bedroom/one bathroom unit at the Tahoe Beach and Ski Club. I choose Lake Tahoe because I had never visited this area before.

I thought it would be a good idea to post some of the activities that I have planned while in Lake Tahoe. The number one plan I have is to snowboard, I was able to find fifteen ski resorts that are within an easy drive. Since I am staying in South Lake Tahoe the most visited resort will most likely be Heavenly Ski Resort. This mountain boasts 29 different ski lifts accessing the 84 runs and 4,800 skiable acres of terrain. Squaw Valley is another world famous ski resort located in Lake Tahoe, however it is located in North Lake Tahoe. After some initial research I have decided not to rent a car, Lake Tahoe has a very well developed public transportation system, some of the shuttles are free while others charge a minimal fee.

I also plan on visiting some of the nearby casinos in Nevada. Again there is a shuttle that runs from South Lake Tahoe to Nevada. There are a number of different casinos easily accessible from South Lake Tahoe hopefully we will be able to visit most if not all of them.

Since this is my first time to this area my knowledge of this location is limited, I am interested to see if anyone has any must do suggestions, restaurants or sites that must be seen in the area would be greatly appreciated. Don’t worry I will provide a full report about the area and how the whole trip went when I return.
