From its "dock" on Fort Myers Beach, Mariner's Boathouse & Beach Resort beckons sunseekers who want all the pleasures of a vacation cruise without ever leaving land. A public 18-hole golf course is located directly across the street. The island offers four public tennis courts, boat launching ramps, and a wide range of party fishing boats and deep-sea charters. Fine restaurants, shopping, and a variety of attractions are just a short drive away. The resort features a full-time activities director with a program designed for adults and children. ** Note ** This resort was damaged by hurricanes in the fall of 2004 and plans to re-open in early 2005. Before renting or buying at this resort, please ask the owner to provide information on the current status of the damage, and confirm with the resort staff.
