This is not at the foot of the Ozarks. Far from...It is run down,,,,Mosquitos,,,,Maintenance not kept up. Out side of Grove, Oklahoma located on the highway in the open, not many trees. Sits across from a flea market...

I'm sorry to say that I agree with previous posting on here. This was a very run down place and not very nice. Amenities were very poor. -Review courtesy of Vida (stayed during Jan, 1998) |

I must say that it is a shame that the 2 posts before me stayed during the winter time. My family and I have been members for almost 13 years. We have very much enjoyed the Bears Den. Winter time is not the most desirable time to stay anywhere in the midwest. Surely these folks are from elswhere. The spring is very pretty with everything blooming. The summer is alive with all the foilage in full bloom. And the fall is simply gorgeous. Summer time is when all the children are alive with excitement and lot's to do at the Bear's Den. There are lot's of sites right on the water. I must say that the sites along the water front, do not have sewage. That is because the lake does flood once in awhile, so sewage would contaminate the lake. But they have 2 honey wagons that will service you right on your site.
Also, they have since built a beautiful 5700 sq. ft. clubhouse with game rooms, execise room, library, kitchen, adult center, teen center, and huge main room.
I do hope that these people get to visit the Bears Den sometime during the spring, summer, or fall. They will surely change their minds. Bear's Den is a great place to take family and children for a wonderful family experience. -Review courtesy of Phil & Sheila (stayed during Jul, 2007) |
