The people were awesome, friendly, very helpfull and will go out of their way to accomodate you. The suroundings were very nice, however there is no beach right in front but a short walk will take you to a swimable area ( use caution, there are coral and stones in the sand ) also, a short drive will take you to Boca Chica which has a very nice beach.
There are several nice restaurants in the area and one next door with a very large menu and good prices, El Concon, plus several other just a short walk away.
The Entertainment staff are the friendliest young people anywhere, we made good friends there and plan to go back. The bar is lacking in service though and closes early, but belly up to the bar and your basic drinks are easily available, although you may not be able to get more suffisticated beverages such as long island iced tea or martinis.
As with all tiled floor buildings, you may request that people above you not drag their chairs, it is quite noisy and can scare even the strong at heart, nevermind a small child in a sleepy stooper.
The rooms are not that new but do have most aminities, but you may need to request a remote control for your TV and ask for water, the tap water is not drinkable, it's quite salty.
All in all, the Dominican people are the friendliest anywhere in the world and the staff at the Albatros are the most honest and helpfull we've ever encountered.
