Looking for peace and quiet? This is the place. The Branches is located two driving miles up Sugar Mountain. From your back porch you view a nice mountain stream and the beginners ski trail. All units are large two bedrooms two baths. Nice kitchens and gas burning firepkace in livinmg room. We visted the resort in October and the fall colors were outstanding. No on property activites but we enjoyed the small clubhouse with large TV. No elevator but only about 13 steps to get to third floor(constructed on side of mountain). Unusual that eight of the units are timeshares and seven are wholly owned. Nice antique store district and restaurants in nearby Boone, N.C. Don't miss the Daniel Boone Inn. Nearest town is Banner Elk,complete with one traffic light. Other than ski season The Braches seems more suited for adults, although their is as small childresns play area near the mountain stream. We found most of the other owners (Florida and Carolina people) very friendly. You are only a few miles from the Blueridge Parkway and other attractions...we'll be going back -Review courtesy of Kenny and Pat Brister (stayed during Oct, 2006) |
