Previous reviews are not of the resort but of the high pressure sales tactics. I agree, just avoid the sales presentation. The resort itself is very nice. There is a reason it is an Interval International 5 Star Resort. It is located near Loon Mountain and is close to other ski areas. We went all over the White Mountains. The staff is not surly but very friendly and cooperative. Issues get resolved quite promptly. The locker rooms are very well kept, the exercise room is well-equipped, the pools are in very good shape, and the outdoor hot tub was in need of repair but I understand that repair has been completed since we stayed there.

We stayed at the Inn Season at Pollard Brook over MLK weekend because the staff was initially nice over the phone. Soon found out, however, that the sales pitch on the phone included things that they did not want to "deliver on" once we arrived (free ski tickets)... In addition, the staff behind the desk was not what you would expect from a resort. They were not very friendly when you asked questions -- they acted as if they were doing us a favor by acknowledging our presence. I expect staff at a resort to be friendly, not moody. Not sure if the leadership at this resort is very good based upon the poor attitudes of their staff. Additionally, my vehicle was plowed in after the snowstorm even though the space that I parked in did not have a no parking sign. If you ask for a remodeled room you will be happy with it. Beware however of the STAFF (Terry and Ann) and the NOISE from the Kangamangus highway that passes in front of the resort. I would have considered a time share prior to experiencing these major complaints.

Although this is a nice place to visit, DO NOT BUY A T IMESHARE HERE this is the only timeshare that charges a special assessment fee during economic crisis and expects owners to pay an extra $500.00 a year and get nothing for this. They have had many people default on their yearly fees so now they are requiring the people who pay every year to foot the bill for the others that don't, and also help pay for the sister lodge that was opened a few years ago that they can not afford to run because nothing is selling, and they do not want to pay a lawyer to go after delinquent accounts, this is NOT FAIR, but if you do not pay you will not be able to use any weeks already paid for. These people are not good at budgeting or scaling down to get through this recession, , how mean is this timeshare, when everyone is trying to keep there head above water at the moment. Many other timeshares do not work this way so RUN RUN as fast as you can from buying at this place I wish I did.

I’ve recently spoken with Owner Services regarding this assessment and I completely disagree. As an owner and as a friend of the HOA I understand the need for this special assessment. I do however, feel that the literature provided with the bill did not do the justice. In this economy it’s true that many owners have been delinquent on their annual fees but InnSeason does have a very strict policy and has handed many owners over to a collections agency in an attempt to recoup that financial loss. In addition, we the owners are not paying for any of the unsold unit- That is the responsibility of the developer…just like an owner the developer must pay an assessment for every unsold unit at the property. Many owners assume that they themselves are paying this assessment for the two above reasons but this is just not the case. Another fallacy that I’ve come across is the assumption that this assessment will take place every year. I’ve been an owner since the beginning of Pollard Brook and for the past 20 some odd years Pollard has never ONCE charged an assessment- I think that’s pretty darn good! I myself own several other timeshares outside of the InnSeason resorts and am responsible for almost a $1200 assessment fee every other year! In addition to that, the condo fees I pay on my own home are roughly $2000 annually! Also, InnSeason is fully aware of the current economic state- The HOA did its best to keep the assessment as low as possible and with several different payment options they are willing to work with us as long as we're making the attempt! People are too keen on assuming that InnSeason is just being greedy and looking for a way to make more money this is also QUITE far from the truth- If anyone actually took the time to call the Owner Services department or check the website there is a very detailed list of items that need to be address at the resort…ranging from general upkeep to very important maintenance to insure all the amenities and units are safe, clean and work correctly! Lastly, I feel that no one understands this was not a fee put in place by InnSeason Management- This fee was decided on by our Home Owners Associate…which includes Pollard owners that WE elected (those of us who chose to send in a ballot). They too must pay this assessment fee! I do not like being sent a bill for roughly $400 dollars anymore than the rest of you …but I stand by my above opinion and am confident in saying that this money WILL go to good use!

I am in agreement with the first owner, why during a time where everyone is having a hard time making ends meet we get a bill for $500 in addition to the regular yearly bill in November. To top it off they only give you 30 days to pay it......It sounds to me that the resort has poor management. Building when they didn't have the funds to cover it. Yes, the resort needs to maintain normal maintenance but that is something that happens each year and is what our yearly payment covers. It seems to be that we are paying for those who do not pay.... As for calling as the second post stating I did call and voice my anger about this added bill and tried not to take out on the person who was on the phone. It seemed to me that she was more indigent to me than I was to her. All she wanted was me to sign up for a payment plan, she didn't want to discuss the fact I did not agree with this added charge. She continued to inform me that if I did not pay I would be put into collection. I said I have 60 days before going into collection she said that as of the 1st of August I will be in collection if I had not paid by then. I am not a lawyer but do believe they have to send notices before sending it to collection. I believe she was using a scar tactic on me and to top it off in the middle of our conversation she hung up. To say the less I will be selling my timeshare and will not have anything nice to say about this resort. I have had issues in the past and ignore them this time I have had it. I have been an owner for 14 years.......and will not make 15. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS RESORT….( after I sell mine) I have an older unit and haven’t seen any updates to it in many years. When I asked how this assessment cost will affect my unit they could not tell me…. I wonder what would happen if none of the owners paid it............

I, too, got caught in the scam of buying a timeshare for $7000 which they stated was a $14k unit. We bought and every year the maintenance fees went up. This year they are at $626. Last year we got a notice that we had a special assessment of over $400 above the regular maintenance fee and this was due to the sales going down and some owners defaulting so they have passed this fee on to us. I have contacted the Attorney Generals office and hope that some lawyer will find out if there is a way this is illegal. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Do not buy and yes buyer beware.

I just had my week at Pollard Brook. All in all this membership has proved disappointing. I asked for Thanksgiving week and ended up with a contract for the week before. Initially they were very amenable to switching for me and even allowed me to upgrade to larger unit (additional cost of course). Then they started their expansion in town. The care and attention went down hill. Now they refuse to exchange nor will they exchange with other Inn Seasons Resorts (another unwritten promise to make the sale). I enjoy the area so much that I have submitted to this the past two years but the time there is not relaxing due to my frustration of being scammed at the sale. I make use of the showers and pool when camping in the area during the year, the only feature that offers me value in my purchase. Agree with previous posting that counter staff is unfriendly and has no concept of customer service. There was on woman that smiled and was helpful, the others didn't have time. And what is this, I bought a condo, pay my $500+ annual fee and they still want to charge me $5 A DAY FOR INTERNET? This is not 5 Star Resort. I'd sell in a heart beat.
