POOL IS STILL DOWN JULY 4TH 2008!!!! Nothing is worse that finding out two days before your trip that the pool is down and having three screamming kids in 95 degree heat with no pool. We had a great time and the people at the resort were most helpful. I believe that most of the work being done is almost all finished. The facilities were excellent. We love the area and the restaurants were very good - from cheap to expensive. We would return to this resort in a second! The area is most interesting with birds and other wildlife. You're very near Lovers key State park which is very nice. The only drawback for some people would be the fact that you almost have to wade through a tide pool (lagoon) to get out to the beach itself. We did'nt mind and it looked like it did'nt bother most other people. In the summer it is almost a moot point because the water would be warmer.

Seems like this place is real good about NOT informing guests of things. Last year it seemed to be the pool being down. When we arrived, somehow there was a mix-up on our room, as it had been canceled. They claimed it was canceled by RCI and it took them over an hour to straighten it out and we ended up in a small efficiency. The room was nothing special and the staff was okay. Not extremely pleasant. Yesterday morning at 8:00am we awoke to several workers jack-hammering above our unit. It was so incredibly loud, we could even hear one another speak. Nothing like chasing your guests out by check-out time!!! We called the front desk and all they had to say was "well, we didn't know they would start that early." No apologies whatsoever. They could have waited until check-out or warned us at the very least. We were not happy and they did not seem to care. So much for customer service. We will not go back! We had to go to other public beaches, b/c you can't get past the stinky lagoon. Ft. Myers Beach is nice and we found very nice restaurants. Would go back to another location.
